Using these is much easier than just sniffing the water for the chlorine because after a few minutes you become immune to the chlorine smell. Using the procedure from those two videos and blog posts, just run the water until it tests positive for chlorine by dipping in the test strip. Then shut off the water and go to the next faucet, shower head, toilet or other water using appliance making sure you have that a chlorine residual above 3 ppm.
