Your water softener has stopped softening your water, and now you need to decide whether to spend the money to fix it or should you scrap it?
It depends! If you have a name brand water softener with a Clack or Fleck valve like our HUM water softeners and it’s under 20 years old, it’s worthwhile either having it repaired or repairing it yourself using the YouTube videos on my Gary the Water Guy YouTube channel. We have lots of troubleshooting and repair videos to help you, and the parts are available through our Water eStore online.
If you have one of the Chinese or Korean Big Box store water softeners, you are far better off scrapping and replacing those water softeners. Troubleshooting and repair help is non-existent, and getting parts is impossible, so don’t waste your time or money. You’re far better off investing your time and money in a replacement Made in North America water softener and moving on!
