Find Out What’s in Your Water: The Water eStore Home Water Test Kit

By John | Water eStore

If you’ve ever wondered what’s really in your tap or well water, our Home Water Test Kit makes it easy to find out.

For years, we’ve offered free mail-in water testing, and that option is still available. But for anyone who wants a faster, easier way to test from home, our new kit takes all the guesswork (and hassle) out of the process.

What’s Included in the Kit

When you order your kit (just $49.99), you’ll receive everything you need to collect and ship your water sample:

  • Sample Bottle – Fill with water from your preferred source:

    • Municipal/tap water: straight from your sink.

    • Well water: from the well directly.

    • Filtered water: after it passes through your filtration system.

  • Step-by-Step Instruction Sheet – Includes a short form to confirm your name, address, and type of water source (this helps us run the correct test).

  • Prepaid USPS Return Label – Ship it back easily using the same box.

  • Tamper Seals – Keep your sample secure and protected in transit.

How It Works

  1. Order your kit HERE

  2. Collect your water sample following the included guide.

  3. Circle your water source on the form, well, treated, or lake.

  4. Seal everything and attach your prepaid USPS return label.

  5. Drop it off with your mail carrier or local post office.

Once your sample arrives, our certified water experts will analyze it in our testing facility.

We’ll then email you a personalized water quality report, explaining what’s good, what’s concerning, and how your results compare to safe standards.

What We Test For (and What We Don’t)

Your kit checks for the most common elements that affect water taste, smell, and safety — including minerals, hardness, iron, and contaminants.

Note: We don’t test for bacteria. That requires certified lab testing where temperature and timing are tightly controlled.
If you’re concerned about bacterial contamination, our experts can recommend a trusted certified lab near you.

See the full list of test parameters on our product page.

Understanding Your Results

You’ll receive an email from one of our experts with:

  • A clear summary of your water quality.

  • Treatment recommendations (if needed).

  • Guidance on next steps or retesting options.

  • If your water is excellent, we’ll simply congratulate you.

  • If it needs improvement, we’ll suggest the best system or filters for your specific issues. no pushy sales, just honest advice.

And if you end up purchasing a water system worth $500 or more, we’ll credit your $49.99 test cost back to you. That means your water test could effectively be free.

Already Have Water Test Results?

If you’ve tested elsewhere, skip the kit! Send us your results and we’ll analyze them for free — with recommendations on how to improve or maintain your water quality.

Why Test Your Water?

Even clear, good-tasting water can hide impurities. Regular testing helps you:

  • Identify contaminants before they become a problem.

  • Confirm your filtration system is working.

  • Protect your family’s health and appliances.

Knowing what’s in your water is peace of mind, and the first step toward better, cleaner living.
