Do You Need an Air Purifier In Your Home?

luminor uv air purifier

As someone who not only cares about water quality but also cares deeply about the quality of the air we breathe, I've been using air purification systems in every home my wife and I have owned since 1984. Through all those years, I've found that UV air systems are the most effective, reliable, and easy-to-use option out there.

What makes them so great? Well, first off, they use ultraviolet light to zap those nasty germs that cause colds, flu, and other illnesses. Plus, they work throughout your entire home--up to 3,500 square feet! Not to mention, if you suffer from allergies or asthma, they can alleviate your symptoms by banishing airborne irritants.

But what I love most about these systems is just how compact and simple they are. You just install it in your ductwork, and whenever your furnace runs, it'll clean and freshen the air as it goes. No fuss, no hassle, and no worries. So, if you want to breathe easy at home, check out the power of UV air purification today!

Luminor UV Air Installation

Before installing the Luminor UV Air, you need to choose somewhere that’s easily accessible for regular cleaning to mount the Air Purifier. Your air duct should be able to accommodate the lamp size, and there should also be 120-240-volt, 50-60 hertz electrical outlets within reach. You can install the Air Purifier above the warm air plenum, about 6 to 8 inches above your AC coil, or on the return air duct, 3 feet away from your furnace filter or humidistat.

Wondering if you can DIY install this system? Installing the Luminor UV Air system is pretty easy and will take you no more than 15 minutes!!!

5 Steps to Installing a Luminor UV Air Purifier

  • Step 1: Drill a 2-inch hole on your surface for the lamp to go through using a hole saw.

  • Step 2: Screw the mounting plate to the duct.

  • Step 3: Connect the lamp to the air controller by aligning the lamp’s four pins to the air controller’s four holes. Make sure the lamp is securely locked in.

  • Step 4: Insert the lamp along with the air controller into the duct. Use the arrows on the air controller and the mounting plate to guide you. Once it’s in, use your palm to push the lamp in, and rotate the air controller clockwise so it locks in place.

  • Step 5: Connect the power cord to the air controller and plug it into a nearby outlet. The Power On LED light on the air controller should turn blue afterwards.

Air Purifier Maintenance + Replacement

replacing your uv air lampTo ensure that your Luminor UV Air Purifier performs at its best, it’s recommended to do some maintenance every 3 to 5 months by cleaning the lamp. To do so, first unplug the power cord and let the lamp cool down for a few minutes. Then, using your palm, gently push the air controller and rotate it counterclockwise so it unlocks from the mount. Next, carefully pull away the lamp. Be careful; the lamp can be hot. Once it’s out, use a soft cloth to gently clean the lamp, before putting it back.

Your UV lamp should last up to one year after installation. When the lamp’s UV output starts to weaken, the red REPLACE LAMP LED on the air controller will start flashing. This is your sign to buy a new UV lamp!

When the red LED light turns solid, that means your old UV lamp needs to be replaced. When this happens, remove the lamp using the same steps when cleaning it. Then push the lamp tabs that connect it to the air controller to disconnect the lamp. You can then dispose of it similar to how you dispose of fluorescent lamps in your area. Then take your new UV lamp, connect it to the air controller, plug it back into the mounting plate and connect the power cord.
