Rust Out Water Softener Cleaner is expertly formulated to chemically eliminate iron and rust deposits that accumulate on the resin beads inside your water softener. These deposits are not fully removed during standard regeneration cycles, leading to decreased efficiency and potential damage. By incorporating Rust Out into your maintenance routine, you effectively dissolve iron build-up and other contaminants within the resin bed, extending the lifespan of your water softener while minimizing rust stains on fixtures, appliances, and surfaces throughout your home. Regular use acts as preventative maintenance, ensuring your softener’s resin bed consistently delivers optimal softening and recharging performance. Additionally, Rust Out’s powerful formula can be applied beyond softeners to combat rust stains in bathrooms, laundry areas, and other water-affected spaces in your home.
APPLICATIONS
Water Softeners: Rust Out dissolves iron deposits in the mineral bed, which are then flushed out during the softener’s regeneration process, similar to salt brine removal.
First Application: Dissolve 1 1/2 cups of Rust Out in 1/2 gallon of cold water. Pour this solution directly into the brine well (or, if your softener lacks a brine well, pour it into the salt tank when the salt level is low). Manually initiate the regeneration cycle. For heavily fouled systems, repeat this process.
Preventative Maintenance: Add 1/2 cup of Rust Out for every 40 lbs. of salt added to the brine tank. Layer the product to ensure a consistent dose with each regeneration cycle, maintaining ongoing protection.
General Purpose Cleaning: Beyond water softeners, Rust Out is effective for cleaning dishwashers, dishes, glassware, and white fabrics. Always follow the package instructions for best results.
